Hipkultur supports freedom of opinion, freedom of expression, and freedom of the press as fundamental rights protected by Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
As a digital media platform, Hipkultur recognizes that cyber media plays an important role in providing information, ideas, perspectives, and space for public discussion. Due to the unique characteristics of digital media, clear guidelines are necessary to ensure that journalistic activities are carried out professionally, responsibly, accurately, and ethically.
These Cyber Media Guidelines are based on Law Number 40 of 1999 concerning the Press, the Journalism Code of Ethics, and the Cyber Media Reporting Guidelines established by the Indonesian Press Council.
Scope
Cyber media refers to any form of media that uses the internet as its primary platform and conducts journalistic activities in accordance with the Press Law and applicable standards established by the Press Council.
User Generated Content (UGC) refers to any content created and/or published by users, including articles, images, comments, audio, videos, opinions, forum posts, reader comments, and other forms of content submitted through Hipkultur’s digital platform.
News Verification and Balance

News that may adversely affect another party must be verified to ensure accuracy, fairness, and balance.
Exceptions may apply when:
-
The information concerns an urgent public interest;
-
The initial source is clearly identified, credible, and competent;
-
The subject requiring confirmation is unknown, unavailable, or cannot be contacted;
-
Hipkultur clearly informs readers that further verification is still being conducted.
When additional verification becomes available, Hipkultur may update the relevant article and include the verified information in the latest version of the report.
User Generated Content
Hipkultur may provide facilities that allow users to submit or publish User Generated Content.
Users are responsible for ensuring that submitted content:
-
Does not contain false, defamatory, sadistic, or obscene material;

-
Does not encourage violence or unlawful activities;
-
Does not contain discriminatory material based on gender, language, physical condition, social status, or other personal characteristics;
-
Does not violate applicable laws, copyrights, or the rights of other parties.
Hipkultur reserves the right to review, edit, restrict, or remove User Generated Content that violates these guidelines or applicable laws.
Hipkultur also provides a mechanism for users or affected parties to report content considered inappropriate or in violation of these provisions.
Reports will be reviewed and, where necessary, corrective action will be taken proportionally within a reasonable period in accordance with applicable regulations.

-
Correct inaccurate information;

-
Include the date or time of the correction where appropriate;
-
Provide a right of reply to parties directly affected by the publication.
Corrections should, whenever possible, remain connected to the original article so readers can clearly understand the changes that have been made.
If Hipkultur content is quoted or republished by another media outlet, the responsibility of Hipkultur is limited to the content published through platforms under Hipkultur’s editorial or technical control.
